But in a statement sited by Northern Focus Online written by Dr. Abdul-Razak Wuni (Bawku FM), Mahama Ayariga was accused of peddling false allegation in order to cover up his failure to manage and take decisive steps as a member of parliament for the Constituency since the peace harmony of this Community has been a matter of worry.

“RE: LAW AND ORDER CRISIS IN BAWKU

Our attention has been drawn to a piece written by Mahama Ayariga. In his write up he accuses Bawku FM as being a medium that is used to provoke Kusassis, amongst other things.

Ordinarily, we would have ignored this piece as coming from a desperate politician who has been pushed to the wall by his own people. His piece was supposedly in response to a voice note on social media that accused him of incompetence and lack of action towards the cause of Kusassis. We can understand the nature of his response, denigrating his grandfather in the process. It is important to note that Ayariga’s rise to fame is through tribal bigotry. He will therefore do anything at all when his loyalty to the tribal cause is questioned. Interestingly however, the crust of the accusations against him, which was that he refused to answer his calls when a group of Kusassi elders visited parliament to see him was conveniently not addressed.

His contrived allegations against Bawku FM came as no surprise to us. Bawku Fm is the only station that scrutinizes his stewardship as MP. The station has consistently shown that compared to his colleague opposition MPs he has been a disaster so it did no surprise that he is calling for the license of the station to be revoked. This infantile call is a lame effort to salvage his sinking political ship.

Moreover, what is surprising is the fact that he is supposed to be a lawyer and yet he makes these reckless statements without any evidence whatsoever. He touts his legal credentials in the same piece

and yet goes ahead to makes very reckless statements that a first year law student will not make.

Additionally, our attention has been drawn to a dying radio station that is trying to use the Bawku FM brand to gain some traction and listenership by spewing out nonsense. It’s better to ignore them.

We will like to end our response by noting that, someone who can denigrate his own dead grandfather who is not alive to defend himself for political gain, has no shame whatsoever and will stop at nothing to remain politically relevant. We will not allow any desperate politician to destroy our brand. If he is convinced Bawku FM has broken the laws of the country he knows what to do. In the future we will take legal action against anyone that maligns the brand.

We will not take lessons on how to run a radio station from someone who can’t keep a home.

Thank you
