Bawku Conflict: Policewoman Shot and Killed by Unknown Assailants at Bawku Mourned by Ghana Police

The Ghana Police Administration has on Tuesday January 25, 2022 mourned the unfortunate death of № 11189 Constable Regina Angenu of Paga Police Station, Bawku Division.

The Police officer met her untimely death while off duty, when she was shot at Bawku in the upper east region by unknown assailants while on her way on a motorbike to Bawku Barracks on Sunday, January 23, 2022.

The deceased Policewoman after the shooting incident was rushed to the Presbyterian Mission Hospital in the Bawku Municipality, but suddenly passed away while responding to treatment.

Commiserating on behalf of the Ghana Police Administration was the Director-General Administration COP/Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohouno and some POMAB members who commiserated with the Bawku Police where Policewoman Constable Regina Angenu was killed.

“We extend our sincerest condolences to the bereaved family, colleagues and friends and also commiserate with them in this trying time.”

 The Ghana Police service went further to urge the family of the deceased to remain calm as the police investigation is underway to get committers of this unreasonable murder arrested and made to face the law.

“We hereby urge the family to remain calm as investigation is underway to get the perpetrators of this senseless and callous murder arrested to face justice.”

The Ghana Police service gave a Facebook live coverage from Bawku in the Upper East Region where some POMAB members join the Upper East Regional Police Command to assess the security situation in Bawku and also to interact with the operational men.

Since late last year 2021, the Bawku Municipality and its surrounding is been going through tribal conflict involving two tribes that’s the Kussasi’s and the Mamprusi’s.

A lot of killings has been going on but no tribe ever accept responsibilities for any murder, but they rather keeps accusing each other for the killing of innocent people on daily bases.
