Information Technology (IT) specialist, Programmer, System
Analyst and Cyber Security expert and also a member of the leading opposition
party in Ghana the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Yayra Koku has on
Tuesday 24th January, 2022 call on Ghanaians who are found of
praying and wishing for the military to take over the nation to resist from
such unfortunate wishes for the sake of the country.
In his post sited by Northern Focus Online, the Social Media
activist told Ghanaians not to encourage any Coup d'état and should never make
it an option if they are not happy with the current New Patriotic Party (NPP)
government led by the president His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and
Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
The Cyber Security Expert went further to add that he has seen
several posts from Facebook by Ghanaians wishing the same military takeover as
it recently that happened in other West African Countries.
With the latest Coup d'état in Burkina Faso being the third so
far in the West Africa Region, the region has already suffered and is currently
going through same military regime in other sister states as it started with
Guinea and Mali respectfully.
“Coup d'état is never an option, no matter how bad a
government is—it started with Guinea, Mali and the latest in Burkina Faso. I
have seen several posts from FACEBOOK wishing the same for Ghana. Please, we
beg you.”
Mr. Yayra Koku who described the Akufo-Ado and Bawumia
government as reckless also took the opportunity to beg Ghanaians to rather
pray and be patient for three (3) years will soon come and Ghanaians will have
the constitutional opportunity to overthrow the government with their thumbs as
the government is already a “coup detat” government and Ghanaians will not want
more.
“The current government headed by Akufo-Addo and Bawumia is
already a “coup detat” government. We don’t want more.
3yrs will come soon, and we will use our thumbs to overthrow this reckless government.”
